Re: PLA "over adheres" to kapton+hair spray?
I switched to just glass+Aqua Net (a bald guy in the hairspray aisle at target must look funny). Wood PLA popped off just like it used to after a couple of hours in the fridge/freezer. The first layer wasn't as "smooshed" down as with the kapton. I will rerun the Quick Start again with a kaptonless ...

Re: The State of the Gear
The site looks great. Could we see a video of the M3 dual in action?

PLA "over adheres" to kapton+hair spray?
I've printed PLA (on bare glass w/hair spray) on an M2 ordered Feb 2013 and always had nice adhesion. Prints would come off by hand after cooling then going in the freezer for 2-3 hours. My new (~2 months ago) M2 came with kapton tape on the beds. The adhesion with hair spray is too good (if that's ...

Re: Adding Dual Extruder v4 Kit Upgrade
Sorry Jules, it's YOUR .FFF files I use as a baseline to tweak for my needs. It's Insta's "Filaments that work" thread and other posts that I misremembered/confused with your .FFF thread. It's been very useful as I get used to the new M2 (my old one was from Feb 2013). Thanks again!

Re: Adding Dual Extruder v4 Kit Upgrade
Using the left extruder .fff for the dual extruder (posted by Insta) I set the X-Offset at -23mm and it's pretty close to centered. Did I misunderstand what the "25mm x-offset" meant? I use S3D and only the y-axis is flipped in the software. BTW, Jules, thanks so much for all you do for a hack like ...

Re: 40 micron
I've had nice results so far with the Hatchbox wood PLA. I used pretty much the "normal" PLA settings posted by Insta (Thanks for all You do for us hacks!).

Re: Adding Dual Extruder v4 Kit Upgrade
I also noticed the centering isn't right (x axis). I used the left extruder profile thinking it was the way to get all 8" on the x axis. Should I just use the dual profile and will that give me the full x axis range with the left extruder?

Which wood filament? I just ordered some Hatchbox that's highly recommended.

Re: Time for a new sheet of glass? Which thickness?
Tolerances on glass aren't that tight. I have 3 glass plates all purchased around the same time. One of them needs a small Z-offset. Some variation is to be expected.
Thanks. Rechecked the glass and it's also much less than flat. Somehow had it "tuned" with old the M2. Ordering another plate.
