Stupid error - USB cable overriding current SD print job
I've done this twice now (just my stupidity unfortunately) but its sooo annoying .... :) So I have my laptop next to my M2 - I set everything up / copy code to SD card / set M2 to print from SD / select the code .... and off it goes happily printing. I unplug the USB & power cables from the laptop &...

Re: Easy PLA removal from bed using FrogTape
Thanks Capt. John - that's really useful info ... I'm sticking to PLA at present as it seems far easier & things just work - but I do want to try out other materials as I get to understand more about the technical details of what I'm actually doing.

Easy PLA removal from bed using FrogTape
I'm very much a newbie - so apologies if I'm stating the obvious here, but I just thought I'd report that I'm getting superb results with PLA printing onto an unheated bed using green FrogTape (Multi-Surface Masking Tape) http://goo.gl/Ie0ox8 - I guess this is just another brand of the "painters tap...

A very happy UK based MakerGear M2 Kit customer ...
I am UK based & have attended the 3D print show in London for the last 2 years. Each time, I came away from the show very enthusiastic / intending to buy a 3D printer. I got very close to buying a machine a couple of times ... however, when I then checked out the user forums and Amazon feedback acro...

Re: Newbie question - simple hot end / filament control?
Hi Tim - Many thanks for your speedy reply. I will have to track down some of that cleaning filament - it sounds really useful. I'm a total newbie to 3D printing - I haven't used one before & my M2 kit only arrived about 4 days ago. So far I have only tried PLA, but I am keen to start experimenting ...

Re: Newbie question - simple hot end / filament control?
OK answering my own question here in case it is of use to other newbies ... Problem solved ... And we're printing merrily again. I discovered the Accessory Control and Jog Control parts of The S3D control panel ... DOH! I simply manually heated the extruder head to 225 and then pressed / pulled the ...

Newbie question - simple hot end / filament control?
I'm totally new to 3d printing so please assume minimal knowledge :) So - all going well ... M2 kit arrived / built easily / Simplify3D installed / bed leveled / first print - and it worked brilliantly! Wow - impressed ... Happily printed off a few other small items one at a time ... still works gre...

Quick newbie question - M2 kit - z axis motion
I only started building the M2 kit after work last night - so apologies in advance if this is a dumb question ... So far I've done the mechanical build / still need to fit the wiring looms - but although the X & Y axes / belts etc move freely, the Z axis / print bed seems to be fairly solidly fixed ...
