I fused it back together with some acetone and a heat gun. Seems to be doing okay right now. Will do until I get my replacement part in.
Does the motor mount stay cool enough to use PLA to print a replacement? I don't feel like switching out my filament to ABS, and am just curious.

Slic3r broke my printer
Slic3r 1.2.9 has had a gap fill issue for a while now. Small gaps get overfilled and cause these irritating little bumps on thin walls that build up over a print. Eventually the extruder will start to scrape against these bumps and occasionally cause the print to be shifted a little bit because the ...

Re: Stops Extruding around the same point on a piece
So it appears that it just didn't like the 180 mm/s bridge speed. It was treating the first solid top layer as a bridge layer and blowing through it really fast, which caused the jam. I took the bridge speed down to 80mm/s and was able to get it to print fine.

Re: Stops Extruding around the same point on a piece
Sorry, there are different configs in that file that I forgot about, which you're referencing. I've been using a 0.2mm layer height and 1.75mm as my filament diameter. The ones I'm using are these: [filament:Maker PLA painters] bed_temperature = 0 bridge_fan_speed = 100 cooling = 0 disable_fan_first...

Re: Stops Extruding around the same point on a piece
Adjusted the tension and tried to make sure there wasn't a clog by trying to clean the hot end with an allen wrench like some of the other posts have suggested. Still messed up on the top surface. Filament diameter is sitting at about 1.8 mm. It's weird because the part prints fine with a 50% infill...

Stops Extruding around the same point on a piece
So I made a device case (hollow box top and bottom halves) that I'm trying to print, but for some reason the extruder just stops extruding when I get to the surface of the inside. It tries to do the 100% fill on the top surface, and then about a third of the way through the layer it just stops extru...

Re: Can't get filament to retract
Okay I got it working. There was a pretty big clump of plastic balled up on the filament in the motor gear cavity that wouldn't let it extrude or retract. Cut that out and redid everything.
Thanks guys.
Thanks guys.

Re: Can't get filament to retract
I tried that a couple times. Is it possible that the plastic fused in the drive?
