First Order Snow Trooper Helmet
Hello all! I just recently finished another helmet for my collection. This is printed with PLA in multiple sections, of course, so there was a bit of bondo work to smooth it out. Lot's of sanding but I'm very happy with the result! I built the model myself in Modo, in case anyone is curious

Cool project! The chrome paint looks fantastic, I'd like to know more on how that was accomplished if possible.

Re: First Order Tie Pilot Helmet
Hi Will, I'm not on FaceBook if that's what you mean :) Here is the finished helmet. The attachments for the oxy hose were also printed in pla. I then finished them up and made a mold (my first one) after which I cast them using an aluminum filler (more learning experiences). Not as metal looking as...

Re: First Order Tie Pilot Helmet
You're absolutely right on that. This was my first print so it was of course a learning experience. Since then I have printed the shoulder armor and various other pieces. I did exactly what you have suggested to add a few extra splices and reduce the areas needing support. It works great! Thank you ...

Re: First Order Tie Pilot Helmet
I did use bondo and some glazing putty to smooth it out, however I now use xtc-3d for prints. Much easier to work with, sand and paint.
The two front sections took about 13 hours each to print due to all the support needed. On avg though about 8 hrs a piece after that.
