Made bike handlebar ends from PLA+. Wow. The stuff is just insanely strong. Not usable as bar ends as too stiff - can’t push them in.
So I will be using PETG for that, which seems perfect.

I am not sure what reason ABS has to exist these days. PETG does not absorb moisture, so you can leave it out on the printer. It doesn't warp like ABS. It doesn't small bad like ABS. It is almost as temp resistant. About the only thing ABS does better is have more color choices.

Re: E3D quietly admits issue with E3Dv6 and heat soak
I just got a V6. I noticed that my drive gear is about 114F while printing. For PLA, it would be nice to keep it as cool as possible. With my V5 I was running a powerful fan right into that gear. I am going to not use that fan, but if I have a problem, then I will put that fan back. BTW, I updated m...

Re: ESUN EPC polycarbonte filament
I have GizmoDorks PC and was able to get good larger prints from it, but only using an enclosure that I made. I am not sure I will buy more of it because I learned that the bonding strength makes it weaker than PLA in the layer direction, even though it is stronger in the other direction. May as wel...

Re: What software are most people using?
Nearly all OpenSCAD parts look like crap. Not sure if it is due to the limitations of the program, the fact that it is laborious to add detail,or that people who use it have no sense for design.

Solidworks to make parts. Simplify to print.
If I did not have Solidworks, I would use Fusion 360, OnShape, or DesignSpark as a 3rd choice.

Re: simplify3d v3.0
I have had three issues: 1. If I take a Solidworks STL and use the Import button, it will say that the object is too large for the build area. It will load it, but it will be invisible. It will then crash the program. However, if I load the same object by dragging it into the program, it will be fin...

I was just testing the loading and saving, not suggesting those as settings.
But I do like the idea of more than 100% infill width as it minimizes movement. I have actually been using 200%.
