Re: What is the problem with this print?
Have you carried out an extruder calibration? You may be under extruding, which can lead to a rough vertical surface texture. Also, if your nozzle is blowing off steam while printing, then your filament has picked up humidity from the air. Use a fresh batch while you dry it out.

Re: Cheap/Free software to "thicken" dxf files
OpenSCAD will import DXF files. From there, it's a very short script away from getting a linear extruded model. It might be more suitable, as it is light weight, free and open, and scriptable.

Re: Ringing and corner pull
That is a different issue entirely. What you're seeing is PLA curling (I'm assuming you're printing in PLA) in overhangs. This happens when the filament isn't cooled off fast enough, and is a common issue when printing with PLA. First step is to make sure your bed fan is blowing 100% throughout your...

Does the part have any features you can index to? So you can drop it in and have it retained with a gap around the cutting edges?

Shaper Origin

It uses machine vision and some fiducial tape you put all over your work surface to know where it is. You feed it a design and trace along the lin...

Re: Help with extruder setting
I'm sure other people will chime in, but here's my two cents. When you went to PLA and back to ABS, you may have baked on some PLA in there giving you a partial blockage. You said you cleaned it out, what procedure did you use? You can either give it a good long soak in a PLA solvent like MEK (paint...
