Re: Heating extruder only on printing moves
You might be able to use Marlin's "DISABLE_E" configuration option, which will disable the stepper driver immediately when it's not being used. You can then swap the E0_ENABLE and HEATER_0_PIN numbers in pins_RAMBO.h. Make sure your TEMP_SENSOR_0 is 999, and TEMP_SENSOR_BED set to 998, and DUMMY_THE...

Did you use the new endstop flag? There's a piece that holds the belt in place, that's a different shape for the dual.

Re: esun epa jamming up the drive
Both of those are moisture. You need to bake the filament in a dehydrator for several hours before you use it, and load-and-start it while the filament is still warm. PA sucks compared to normal filaments you're used to.

Brass prints "better". I can hit higher speeds and a bit less stringing.

Re: esun epa jamming up the drive
Less drive tension -- if you over-squish the filament trying to dig into it, you'll squeeze it into an oval and it will jam. Less tension and go slower

You probably don't want to hear it -- but PETs really like wider nozzles.
Go slow, hot, under extrude slightly (I run 0.93), 250C nozzle, 75C bed with hairspray.

Re: V4 Hot End tech details?
I think it splashes just a little bit of airflow down to keep the throat of the V4 cool. But, yeah, it's not a game-changer either way.

You're good now.
And, sthone, I actually added my fans back in. I *think* it made the printer more reliable, but it's certainly not incredibly noticable one way or another.

Re: V4 Hot End tech details?
30:1 is ridiculous overkill for the v4. You can feed the filament through with tweezers -- you just can't do it SUPER fast. It has a relatively small melt-zone. Ed's good about doing all the volumetric math though.

Re: Steppers acting weird
Marlin looks in EEPROM for settings when it boots up. If there's nothing found in EEPROM, then it goes to the hardcoded values in the firmware and loads those instead. When you run an M500 command, the values presently in RAM (regardless of origin) are saved to EEPROM. Since you changed the values a...
