Re: MakerGear M2 Ball Bearing Filament Guide
I was bothered by the "clunk" and the impact that may have on the feed, thought more about the spool. To you have a bearing on the spool as well? Has anyone done that?

Re: Current Slic3r, Cura profiles for M2?
I have visions of this "bronze-gear covered fire-breathing steam-powered M2 ", surly a formidable sight!
Even something close would be OK, that at least has the M2 configured. I can put in the temps and such.

Current Slic3r, Cura profiles for M2?
Looking for current Slic3r, Cura profiles for the M2/V4 (Or at least V3b).
Would like to compare some results with Simplify3D.
The ones I could find seem very old. Are they on the web somewhere or does anyone have these?

Re: Setting the Filament Drive Tension Screw
(You can keep that one for your spare and keep using the PETG one you printed, it looks fine.) :D Except it jams, perhaps once I get a "McMaster-Carr 48 gauge wire High Speed Drill Bit # 3161A63" it will work better. PETG is rough, I suspect it is catching on the imperfect hole. HOWEVER - I don't t...

Re: Good deal on Calipers
I have been using these with good success thus far:

Indispensable tool!
They have retained "zero" and are consistent within their rated accuracy. I'm sure there are better, but it has worked for me.

Re: Setting the Filament Drive Tension Screw
Thanks Jules! This is a great tip and should be locked at the top.
What I didn't do is check it when I put in the PETG (Don't think that cracked it, but it wasn't set right).

Re: Reprinting broken filament drive
Looking at your first picture at the top of the ABS drive - that looks like it cracked because the tension on that top screw was way too tight. On my drive there is a fairly even gap of between 1.5 mm to 2.0 mm showing between those two uprights. It is tight because I had tightened it prior to real...

Re: Reprinting broken filament drive
you can use abs or petg. the slot where the bearing goes needs to be cleaned out and very smooth. i know that gap needs support to be printed and supported horizontal overhangs with petg don't always print really clean. when you tighten that shoulder bolt down its just snugging down on the bearing....

jsc: I noted your infill is lengthwise where as mine is angled - that may have helped. It still looks like the layer is not fully filled, it is probably good enough but I'm trying to understand what is going on. Do you know why yours looks better than mine? sthone: that does look very good - I alway...

Reprinting broken filament drive
Today I found that my filament drive was cracked :o , no idea why - perhaps it was when some cleaning filament jammed up. This crack was causing skipping at full speed. CrackedFilamentDrive.jpg It was still working somewhat so I thought I would try printing one. The drive is in ABS as PLA would melt...
