Re: How to improve fine detail print quality of the m2?

in my personal experience i've gotten more detail out of my replicator 1 then my m2, even though the tip f the r1 is .05 larger. its not that you cant get detail from an m2, its not a problem, its a just a relative thing. I've defiantly gotten good results from the m2 .. but if i am printing some fi...

Re: 3d scanning a motorcycle

you might want to try this with a kinect camera http://reconstructme.net/ instead if using a static position for the kinect camera, it takes many samples from multiple angles and makes a compost. cheap and effective. link showing this in action http://reconstructme.net/reconstructme-ui/ sample of wh...

Re: New and different dual extruder idea

There is actually plans for a dual carriage bukobot on their website: http://bukobot.com/creating-a-dual-x-carriage-bukobot. firmware changes and all. I would bet we can find someone to make up some custom chassis and cut a longer top plate though at this rate, the m2 will become a bit like Lincoln...

Re: New and different dual extruder idea

i cant come up with a better concept that dosn't ad significant weight to the carriage. I was thinking about a quick release on one of the hot ends, but i think that would still require re-alignment each time. the only alterative i can think of is that Micron (3dp) has a dual extruder design where t...

Re: New and different dual extruder idea

The only real practical issue i see with this is that one of the critical alignments you do with a dual head is alignments between heads for the x and y offsets. every time you work on a dual extruder it seems, you have to re calibrate it. so if your splitting the left and right extruders then conne...

Re: New and different dual extruder idea

All right, dang, where were you when we were discussing wipe towers and ooze shields and all that? oops like i said, i totally missed that thread...or don't remember it... almost all my prints i've done on a dual head printer are larger then the distance between the heads...and yea.. the second hea...
