Thermal Interface Material?

Is anyone using TIM on their barrel when assembling the Hot end. Mainly to promote thermal transfer between the block and the barrel. would this just throw things off?

i have back when i was using the v3b. didnt do it really for thermal transfer. i saw no difference there but i did it so i could break down the hot end easily. kept the barrel from freezing to the alum block.
