Physical "print from SD" button

One of my biggest problems is that I do my modeling from a desktop PC, and I want to be able to develop Gcode for my M2, put it on my SD, and bring it to where the printer is stored two floors down and print.

Presently, I seem to need to buy a 2nd licence of s3d and a laptop in order to simply press the "print from SD" button within s3d. I really want to be able to print without a computer connection

Is there any projects besides the super elaborate LCD homebrew I've read about to create a button which can be pressed to simply print the 1st, alphabetically higest gcode file from the sd card? This sort of feature would make me far more inclined to buy one of these bots for myself.

You can buy a raspberry pi and run Octoprint, this would allow you to start the print from any computer in your house. (even your phone or tablet)

Great YOUTUBE VIDEO on how to set it up, it's pretty easy.

My S3D came with the ability to run on two computers.

Or Octoprint.

But I would not want my printer that far from me so I have it in my bedroom. They are generally reliable but not so reliable that I never have to restart a print.
