I've changed the gearbox pinon (was slightly worn), greased the gearbox, set the motor current to "200" in Marlin (1.2A?), tried all tensions on the idler, brand new E3D nozzle (0.4mm), heatbreak fan running at 50C and hotter, and a filament oiler (tried dry and oiled), with well-dried Taulman 645 Nylon.

I'm running 0.2mm layer height, 260C, 30mm/sec print speeds.

Anywhere from 2-60 minutes into the print, the filament will strip out. If I retract, cut off the stripped part, and feed it back in, I get immediate and severe skipping (very ratatat instead of click, click, click). If I swear at it and leave it alone for awhile, it works fine. The nylon is making it down to the nozzle and not catching on something on the inside (it might be dragging, but its at least not fully hung-up). Other than ordering more nylon, I'm running out of ideas

the #1 thing taulman is known for besides nylon is the piss poor extrusion consistency. double check the dia of the filament. it usually takes 3 spools of anything from him to get one good one. if you dia is up in the 1.85-89 range then its borderline. i have had spools start at 1.6 then after 15 ft it shoots up to 1.95. its god awful. just be sure the dia isnt causing the issue first. remember especially with nylon that feed bearing will crush it into an oval making the 1.85 dia not go through a 2mm bore in the drive/hot end.

I'm mentioning this just in case since I had a very frustrating weekend with my printer doing something similar with ABS.

I use Jim's drive for the E3Dv6. I messed up and printed the one for the older E3D and it was causing me all kinds of grief. Finally realized what I'd done and everything is cool now. Just mention it on the remote chance that we both changed drives this weekend and both printed the wrong one.

Yeah v5 and v6 are different.
