No Temp on Heated Bed, Dropped out

Post by Cam3d » Wed May 27, 2015 2:13 am

Hi Guys,
I was just doing a print with my M2 when I realised the hot bed was loosing temp. It was set at 68 c and when I at the print I seen it lifting, so I checked temp and it was at 46 c and lowering, I stopped the print, reconnected to Simplfy3d and it still will not turn on?? has anyone had this problem or know how to fix it?

Cheers,

Cam

The wires between the RAMBo board and the platform heater have broken.

The usual spot is at the red inline connector just to the rear of the platform, where the wire flexing seems to concentrate.

The green connector bringing 12 V power to the RAMBo board may also overheat, char, and fail. That requires some creative reworking; some folks have replaced that connector with heavy jumpers soldered directly to the board, with Powerpole connectors to the wire.

Worst case, the heater pad attachment may fail, which calls for a new heater.
