All Metal V4 nozzle versus PTFE V4 nozzle

Well this is a little bit embarrassing to admit, but yesterday when i took the photos of my spare V4 hotend, i realized that it has a plastic block, but when i looked more closely at the one i installed, i saw that it has an aluminum? heater block. (Yeah, nothing gets past me for more than a month or two.)

Did i put an all-metal V4 on my machine?

I know at least one of you guys has tried both, (jin? jim? insta? tim? ed?) but danged if i can find the thread.....

Help me out if you can......how much higher can i take the temp on the all-metal V4?

Is it better to use the ptfe one for PLA? (I haven't had a problem with it yet, but i did dial down the temps i was printing with.)

Any issues i need to be concerned with using the all-metal? Should i switch it out for the ptfe?

jules the heater block is always metal. when they are new they anodized and black but the heat eventually cooks the dye out leaving the block in raw aluminum. the ptfe hot ends have a small ptfe tube inside where the filament goes so when it gets hot it slides easy.

You will not have an all metal v4 unless you were a dual beta tester. All subsequent v4s were PTFE lined.
