Anyone printing with extreme temp materials?

Post by Farr0wn3d » Wed Jun 01, 2016 12:39 am

I'm considering upgrading my temp sensing on my v6 so that I can give ultem a try and the PT100 sensor from e3d seems like a fairly easy switch. Just curious if anyone is printing with extreme temp materials like PEEK or Ultem and if so what did you do for replacing your thermistor?

3dxtech that sells the filament uses an m2 for their testing. they run a converted e3dv6 in their machine. an email to them might give some insight.

I talked to 3DXtech and they indeed use an M2, and from the sounds of it it just has a v6 with a high temp sensor, printing slowly. That and they say the ultem needs to be as dry as possible.

will do, I doubt I'll go the thermocouple route, but the PT-100 seems like an attractive and reasonably priced option. PEEK seems like it might be a good option for material also but since PEEK and Ultem are both INSANELY priced Im gonna have to pick one and work with it only for a while.
