M2 Kit Out of Stock?

Post by james840a2014 » Sun Nov 02, 2014 8:14 pm

So get this, i had the M2 kit in my shopping cart and was ready to check out and then was about to checkout and Bam it was out of stock, and the only other option was to get the Assembled which is an extra $300. I am NOT paying an extra $300

So here is a question for everyone out there. Does anyone have any other 3D printer recommendations other then the M2 that is about the same price ($1,475) and quality(build and print)? as i would need it by Thanksgiving. 2-3week shipping for the kit would have land it about then. But if its Out Of stock it does me no good and will have to look else were. Dont get me wrong my decision was between the Makergear M2 and FlashForge Creator Pro my first pick was M2 but i may have to settle with my second choose if the kit does not become available this early week.

You sound very entitled. How long do you think assembly and calibration will take, especially since you need it by Thanksgiving? Is $300 seriously not worth it to just open the box, load some filament, and hit "go"?

Send MakerGear an email -- info@makergear.com, and ask about stock. They'll probably find one for you. If your choices are currently between a FlashForge and an M2, you're going to end up with the M2 anyway, might as well skip the step of hating a FlashForge first.

I had to wait when I ordered my assembled M2 back in March.
No big deal, and sure glad it did.

Self imposed deadlines when there's an entire future of making 3D parts
is not the way I'd go.

Money I've spent at Makergear/Amazon has been a great experience
and would still be at twice the price.

Hopefully, soon all here will see a patent pending product that was ONLY made
possible by building 100's of prototype pieces of tackle.

No, and that is why I went with the M2. I went looking at the beginning of this year at all the options. Everything that is "better" in some objective sense is priced above it. Everything (that I saw) that was cheaper was either something on Kickstarter that wasn't shipping yet, required significant amounts of DIY, or had some major trade off in build quality.

The landscape keeps slowly changing, so maybe there is something out there now that will fit your needs and is cheaper, but since everyone on this forum most likely opted to get an M2, unless there are some super 3D printer enthusiasts who have tried them all I don't think you're going to get much help with other printer recommendations.

Here's something that might help, though! Check out the M2 kit page again. Looks like it's in stock to me....

Edit: oops, missed your reply up thread....

Same here. For the bed size, resolution and price I couldn't find anything a few months ago. And the reviews on Amazon vs other brands really convinced me this was "Z" Machine to go with. :) There's "another" big brand out there that sounds really good (on paper) but when I read the reviews the reliability and customer support was way out of whack.

We actively manage inventory levels so that we can meet shipping estimates. It does not happen a lot but it is possible for an item to go out of stock between the time you put it in your basket and check-out. If that happens, just contact us...

Thank you,
Rick
