NASA Releases .STL files

Post by Lateralg » Sat Aug 02, 2014 9:24 pm

NASA recently announced availability of .STL files for Mars, Moon, Asteroids, NASA hardware, & other good stuff.

I'm now printing "Mars_Valles_Mar" @ 1.5 scale .2mm layer on my M2. Looks good with ~ 2 hrs to go. I'll post photo of completed print.

I deleted my previous post. It was too close to the edge of propriety.

Will post photos in a few weeks. Tomorrow I get major repairs at hospital that will have me out of commission for awhile.

NIH has a nice 3D print exchange: http://3dprint.nih.gov/

Smithsonian, NASA and NIH all publishing 3D files for public consumption. Pretty cool!
