Another satisfied Purchase

Post by Mike Hunter » Sat Nov 22, 2014 4:11 am

Hi all:

My name is Mike and I'm a recent M2 printer purchaser. I've had the machine for nearly three months and it's been (nearly) flawless from the moment it was uncrated to now. It arrived on-time, well packaged and needing only a minor tweak to the bed level before printing a bracelet sample using the GCode provided by MakerGear. Except for an additional bed leveling when the printer was moved into it's permanent office, there has been no issues

I've been printing exclusively with PLA, most of the prints my own design for (around the house) repairs or renovations. I have ABS filament waiting in the wings, but I'm hesitant to switch as the (PLA) prints have been dimensionally accurate and stable.

I would like to thank the personnel at MakerGear for providing a great product which is reasonably priced. I hope to have many sleepless nights printing ... just about anything I can think of.

Congrats!

And, yes, PLA is the "easy button" of good prints. PET is apparently the new hotness for stronger or more heat-tolerant plastic than PLA, rather than ABS.

I too have to re-level the bed after it moves. It's solid when it picks a home, but it really doesn't travel all that well.

Glad you enjoy it! Leave them a review on Amazon if you haven't yet :)

THANKS insta. My review was made as soon as I saw how well it was packaged. I was certain a product this well boxed must also work well and I wasn't wrong.
I know there are many different types of filament available, but I'm having so much fun (most of the time  ) learning the 3D process and PLA seems to work superbly for the products I've printed to date. The move to a more finicky material will happen soon enough.
