Weird Slicing Issue
Weird Slicing Issue
I am running into an issue I find quite confusing so I am turning to you guys for help. I am trying to print this http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:25829. I am getting some weird gaps in two of the three parts, the third part prints perfectly. I have tried reducing the coasting and eliminating the extra restart which did help slightly but won't eliminate the problem. The opposite side of the 2 parts also looks great. Any other ideas you guys have for what might be causing this.

Re: Weird Slicing Issue
well i downloaded it and sliced it. i got nothing strange in the preview. are you printing in pla? i will assume it is. looks like maybe its getting too hot. the side that is printing strange, is that the side thats away from the bed fan? try printing a pair of these thing to see if it helps and maybe lower the temp slightly. if your using s3d can you post the factory file?
Re: Weird Slicing Issue
This doesn't appear in my preview either, sorry so it's not a slicing issue. I am printing in PLA. It's Colorfabb white. I'm printing at 225C so i'll try it again at 220C. This is actually the side that faces to fan. I didn't save the factory file but I'll see how my next one comes out and post that.
Re: Weird Slicing Issue
Apparently "The extension factory is not allowed."
Re: Weird Slicing Issue
colin just zip the file and upload it.
Re: Weird Slicing Issue
I can't do that either because the file exceeds 1MB (it's 1.8MB zipped)
Re: Weird Slicing Issue
ok how about the fff. zip that and upload it. that should be no problem and small
Re: Weird Slicing Issue
There we go. This is usually my go to for PLA.

Re: Weird Slicing Issue
try turning the temp down by 5-10 deg then just turn the coasting completely off and see what happens.
Re: Weird Slicing Issue
So I was able to get that print to come out much better with your suggestions. Then I tried using those same settings for a different print and I'm getting an issue where the print head is running into parts of the print now and i'm getting trace lines trailing behind the nozzle as it moves over parts.
