Quick question....

For those of you who are using Kapton tape on your glass plate.....are you still using the hairspray or gluestick on it, or does it hold pretty well by itself?

Use ABS slurry on top of Kapton. It sticks the best out of anything for ABS. PLA needs no treatment except soap & water occasionally.

Many thanks! How much ABS do you have to mix into the acetone for the slurry? (Just a rough estimate - I haven't gotten to the ABS yet, but it's coming before too much longer.)

PM me your address. I will drop an appropriate amount of spaghetti from a failed clear ABS print into the mail to mix into an 8oz container of acetone (cheap nail polish remover works best, has the right plastic bottle and everything... make sure it's unscented with no lotions, and is actually acetone).

PM sent, and thank you! :D

I am really liking that whole bed sheet Kapton tape (4mil) from a print removal standpoint - the prints just pop right off instead of having to either chisel up an edge or stick it in the freezer. And the PLA sticks pretty well. (Sometimes I do give it a light mist of hairspray, just to make sure it stays down.)

Much easier than the multiple coats of hairspray or gluesticks, which were kind of hard to get on there evenly.
