I have heard about people making their own Abs glue using Acetone and abs.

I have some questions about this.

Do you have to grind the abs to dust first?

How long does does it take?

Do you make it thick like tooth paste or thin like water?

Any other pitfalls or uses would be welcome.

Nope. It needs to be small enough to fit through the opening of the jar, but you can use leftovers from a failed print.

How long does does it take?

Mine took overnight but I had a big wad in there. It starts to dissolve in a couple of hours.

When it's done it looks just like skim milk, so fairly thin.

Any other pitfalls or uses would be welcome.

Use a wide mouth mason jar to brew it, about an ounce or two of ABS to 8 ounces of pure acetone.
Cover it while the ABS is dissolving so the acteone doesn't evaporate.
Transfer it to an empty 10-oz bottle that used to hold women's nail polish remover (for convenience) when it's done.

not yet....I'm a little bit scared to move on to another (more difficult to work with?) filament. I'm going to have to move the printer out to the garage when I do the ABS leap....hubs is incredibly sensitive to smells.
