Early M2 how to open the electronics case?

I have a very early M2, and I'm trying to verify that I have the version with the safety recall issue, but I can't seem to get the acrylic enclosure open. Is the enclosure glued shut? I'd hate to snap the cover into pieces if there's a way to release it without breaking it.

Hi David - I don't recall ever gluing the acrylic cases...it should just slide open. However, if you do break it we have metal
enclosures for the electronics now. Have you retrofitted your machine to 24v?

While you should do the upgrade to 24v either way, note that Craig now has the lasercutting files if you want the latest ABS enclosure (with the zip-tie hole). The metal enclosure is prettier, but Craig cutting one is another option

I think it was under $10 for a set of parts.

Hi Rick, I have not upgraded 24-volt yet. I'm actually just getting back into 3d printing after a long hiatus. If I get some time this weekend, I'll try to snap some photos of the wiring harness. I'll probably be in the market for a dual-extruder if they become available again.
Thanks,
Dave

David - the dual info on is on the same page as the metal enclosure.

Wanna check out my shop? You can see all the iterations of printers

I have everything from a dual-supply 12/19v system with a V3a up through a 24v dual-extruder.

Heh, perhaps I should donate my hybrid clonedel/makergear franken-prusa to your display?
