What are the things to look out for when installing and using the V4. Is everyone that has the V4 seen improvement in their prints. Replacing V3b.

Dont install it so slowly you finish the sucker before you're done putting it together.

I've heard more than one person mention the suckers. What happened to the Ghiradelli chocolate supply?
Anyway, I would not say that I have any particular improvement in print quality with the v4 over the v3b. What I do have is (1) the capability to do higher temperatures, making polycarbonate printing possible, and the ability to do slightly lower temperature filaments like nylon without getting nervous about it; and (2) a trivially easy nozzle removal and replacement. Especially you can get to the filament between the filament drive and the hot-end, so jams are easy to cope with. Less down time.

They were turning into little puddles of goo for us southern folks (albeit tasty puddles of goo

). They'll probably switch back to chocolates when it cools off again.

Thank you Tim. Did you have to make adjustments to the slicer for use with the V4.

For the most part, no. You can, however, print cooler or faster (sometimes both if you ask it nicely).

I had to redesign the v3b extruder to get it to print flexible filaments it just wasnt going to work reliably with their design. the v4 has been running non stop for the last several weeks printing TPU with very few failed prints. most of the failed prints were due my error or to clogged nozzles which are easy to remove and torch (back up and running in 10 min or less)
