M2 Z nut part number

Post by jprochnow » Tue Jan 05, 2016 1:46 pm

I see the new machines have a different z nut that is on the threaded shaft. Does anyone know the part number for this and is it a bolt on part?

No the nut that is controlling the height of the z bed. The newer printers have a different nut from what I seen in pictures.

Got mine in Oct. There is nothing on the bottom side of the Z. No Brass, No nothing.

There is something (threaded nut) on the topside of the platform.

Got mine this summer. The brass nut appears to be the same, but mine is ON TOP of the platform rather than below. It doesn't look like anything else changed, the exploded diagrams in the online docs still show it below.

Could you post a picture of what you have on the top?

when i replaced my z stepper, since i used a stepper that was slightly taller then the original, i also mounted my nut on the top, just like in the picture above to give a little extra clearance to make up for the little height i lost with the taller stepper. Nothing special about the nut other then how i mounted it though.
