Re: Costume Props (Game of Thrones)
WOW Very impressive such amazing work .... I can hardly wait to get my printer. What do you use (program wise) to design something like that anyway?

Re: Costume Props (Game of Thrones)
Thank you Steve! All of those were designed in SolidWorks.
Re: Costume Props (Game of Thrones)
These are very cool. What type of filament/Paint did you use?
Re: Costume Props (Game of Thrones)
Everything is printed in ABS and painted with acrylic, bottle paint and spray paint.
Re: Costume Props (Game of Thrones)
Beautiful!
Re: Costume Props (Game of Thrones)
Great work. You're using SolidWorks for artistic props? The mind boggles.
Re: Costume Props (Game of Thrones)
thats fine work there my friend. i love to see the printer used for stuff like that then faux finished and turned into something useful and cool.
Re: Costume Props (Game of Thrones)
Thanks everyone! Yeah, Solidworks is all I know how to use...I could probably be a lot more efficient if I learned another modeling software like Blender or Maya. Have any of you used those programs for modeling "abstract" items?
Re: Costume Props (Game of Thrones)
I don't know that switching software would serve you any better. Blender has an infamously steep learning curve, and Maya is, I believe, a mesh modeler not particularly suited for generating solid models. I like SolidWorks, and wish I could afford it. You just don't see it used all that often for non-mechanical models.
