I remixed one of my other designs to make a fire stoker.

Little light on details but my guess is the handle holds a battery holder, The fan is direct driven by a small electric motor attached via a shaft from the outside of the casing. The switch is most likely just a couple of bare wires that touch to complete the circuit.

Sorry about that.
Here are some more details.
I mounted a motor (Radio Shack# 273-256) to the backing plate by using 2 M2.5 X 5mm bolts.
The handle holds the battery and the trigger mechanism which hits a limit switch (Radio Shack# 275-017)

The limit switch is hot glued into position.
