ok, I needed to replace the y axis linear bearing...
after replacing it, my HBP won't heat... tried both Simplify 3d, and Repetier-Host... nothing...
it'll update ambient room temp...
checked fuse, good...
cables are secured to card...
extruder heats just fine...
do not see any broken wires at build plate...
worked just fine 2 day ago, replaced the bearing tonight, (it needed it!)... go to calibrate, and nothing...
sigh...

Well if the thermstor is giving temp feedback to s3d then that part is ok. Sounds more like the power wires have an issue. Either the red plug or the wires are broken somewhere. The common place for them to break is right at the build plate.
