Have had my M2 for a couple of years now. Have had no problems until today.
I started a print, and realized the sd card was in the computer instead of being in the m2.
Hit the stop button, moved the card, and started the print from the sd card.
after the warm up, the x and y axis did the normal moves and it started extruding... except the z axis didn't move. the bed was at the bottom.

I can't get the bed to raise at all unless i move it manually, zero it wherever it is, then it will respond to the jog on up and down in z.
Trying to home it sends it to the bottom.

Looking at the led for the z stop, it is always on. triggering the switch by hand makes it brighter, but it will not go off.

I've shut everything down and restarted, including the computer.
Any ideas what happened?

The limit switch has 3 poles, one of which is not used. check to see if one side of the LED is shorting out on the 3rd pole. I noticed while i had the limit switch off that it was easy to short out the LED wire to turn it on.

thanks for the feedback. I did see that, and loosened the switch clamp and dropped it down. Was not touching anything,, and the light is still on. I will have to readjust the z clearance once I get it going again.

Well, Josh at MakerGear support was great! He figured out it was a problem on the Rambo board at the z-axis connector. He wrote a modified firmware to relocate the connector to the z max location on the Rambo board. All I had to do was swap the connector, and load the custom firmware, and it's back in operation.
I will have to reset the clearance since I moved the switch block trying to troubleshoot, but that's pretty small potatoes compared to what it might have taken..
