I've set up the leveling and Z, but still need some work. Printing my first, actually my second print (not counting the one's I messed up before I got it half way right).

Anyway, here's an in-progress picture. There are problems which I'm not sure what settings are causing them so if anyone can shoot some suggestion out I'd really appreciate it. I really like the M2! Also, thanks to the gentleman who posted about the LED lights. I installed them today and made a big difference when leveling.

Also I'll post the finished picture when I'm done. This is a 4 slot battery holder for LPE8 batteries like a lot of Cannon cameras use. made for wall mounting.

EDIT: Oh forgot to mention. I'm using pretty much default medium settings, no major changes to anything. I turned off random infill have it set at Auto for extrusion. Bed at 75 and Extruder at 220 with white PLA.

Ok, here's the first completed draft. I'm kind of happy with it for my first project, but there's definitely issues. I definitely have to re-do the lettering. I made it small and recessed so ended up kind of smeared, or maybe once I finish adjusting the printer it will work out. But probably need to extrude them out instead.

My main concern with this is the base is a little flared out. What causes that? Too much heat?

Yes, too much heat. Leaves it too plastic and it will deform. Or, your first layer height is too low and it is squishing out wide. But try lowering bed heat first.

Thanks jsc will try that on the next one. However this leads me to another question. The next one is going to have slots for 12 batteries. Do you find that as you go to a much bigger one it will absorb more heat than the smaller one? Leading to increasing the heat for the bigger sized print? I'm assuming yes, but figured I'd ask before I try it.

No, bed temperature is independent of size.
