Assuming you have a new printer ... the glass sheet comes with yellow Kapton film on one side. Just let the platform cool before you try removing the part and be careful not to cut the film. It's not a big deal if you do - a pack of 10 sheets runs about $15 on Amazon. That works pretty well for PLA without adding anything to it. I haven't had great luck with the blue tape anyway. If it's a challenging print/material combination from a warp standpoint, the parts sticks to the tape but the tape starts lifting off the glass.

I did one or 2 prints on blue painters tape. I switched to plain glass, no kapton, with the heated bed and haven't looked back since.

Oh man...

don't give new people the idea of trying to print on bare glass.
Yes it can be done if the clean is absolutely clean but for new people it's just going to lead to problems and frustration.

How about some using some hairspray on your heated glass bed ? That seems to work pretty well.

Try searching for PEI. You'll never look back.

thanks for all the suggestions.
The heated bed worked for the first few prints, now its not.
Im guessing I have to clean the glass, would alcohol suffice for cleaning it?
My blue tape finally came in, I have yet to try.
Does it leave a very sticky hard to clean residue though?

The tape pops right off the bed, but will probably leave a residue on the underside of your print. Don't smash, but print your first layer slowly.
I still prefer hairspray on glass for PLA.

I've used both AquaNet dark-purple can and Garnier Fructis green can. They seem to work about as well.
