Using S3D, what the trick to getting STL files that come in either not at the right angle or not square with the table? The last one came in on edge ?? I used the rotation Gizmo to get it as level as I could and then used Control T to drop to table. One edge drops to the Table but its still not level??

So what is the magic trick? I bring into Cura 17.xx rotate and it lays flat on the table no screwing around its ready to go.

So I found a work around, just take the file into Cura 17.x use the rotate and lay flat and then re-save. No hassles it just works. Funny that such simple thing as lay flat does not work correctly in a premium program like Simplify 3D?

Sorry, must have missed this one. Just click on the model then Edit > Place Surface on Bed and then click the surface that you want to land on the bed.

Very quick and super easy.

Thanks, that seems to work. I was rotating and then clicking place Surface on Bed but nothing was happening? Now I just select the Surface after clicking place on Bed, easy.

Ha - awesome! I used to sit there and adjust it bit by bit while zoomed in. That was rather tedious. I really should make a pot of coffee and RTFM, but this seems like something they'd have on the main toolbar or something..

It's a new toy in version 3.0+.

There are a few features in the drop downs that are useful. Plus some hot keys that I just learned over the weekend.

Rotate View – Left-click and drag
• Pan View – Right-click and drag
• Zoom – Scrolling or gesture zoom (or Shift-left-click and drag up and down)
• Move Model – Ctrl-left-click and drag (or Command-left-click on Mac)
• Scale Model – Ctrl-right-click and drag up or down (or Command-right-click on Mac)
• Rotate Model – Alt-left-click and drag right or left (or Option-Left Click on Mac)
Undo: Control/Command + Z
Select All: Control/Command + A
Copy Selection: Control/Command + C
Paste Selection: Control/Command + V
Remove Selection: Backspace
Center and Arrange Models: Control/Command + R
Drop Model to Table: Control/Command + T
Place Surface on Bed: Control/Command + L

It would really, really be nice to have some actual printed or a PDF that could be printed documentation. And these people are not the worst, AutoDesk with all the millions they take in every year could afford to hire people to do theirs, but they don't. Videos are nice to get a review, but who and the hell has time to watch a 5 minute video to learn something one sentence could explain?

Anyway thank you again Jules for the quick and correct answer, you have saved me a lot of hassles.
