I will also make one out of Triton as I think Nylon will be more slippery.

Interesting - I printed my 3mm filament drive and replacement 1.75mm out of petg (almost that exact same color as it turns out) both seem to function very well.

Please let us know how the Nylon works.

Looks great! :D

Is PETG okay to use on higher temp areas? Or are you better off sticking with ABS?

(And what is the difference between PETG and PET+?)

Abs still has a slighlt higher temp rating but for the most part none of the plastic parts on the m2 are high temp so pet works fine on anything for the m2. Also fine for outdoor summer heat, in your car or whatever. Petg and pet+ are just different formulations of pet plastic. Pet+ is madesolid's own proprietary blend.

i have had a nylon filament drive in the past. worked well but i saw no difference in performance over abs. it was the natural nylon color though and always looked dirty just from handling it. i eventually got rid of it and always use abs now and drill the path out with a 2mm drill bit. the drilling is really a night and day difference. it perfectly rounds out and almost gives a nice polished bore for the filament to pass through. i found that to make the biggest difference in performance and minimize jamming.

one other petg tip or trick. sometimes you get those microfine fuzzies or strings on the print. dont sit there and try to pick them off. just run the tip of a flame from lighter over the print. they disappear instantly. a heat gun works also.

Welcome to "How to Burn your house down" with our host Jimc :)

Actually a good tip. I have to say after using the profile I found here and some tweaking I have stringies down to a minimum. If pet wasn't so much more expensive that PLA I would print in nothing else.

Are you using pet+? I found the esun and reprapper petg to be the same or just a couple bucks more than abs or pla.

I can get a spool of PET+ from amazon (matter hackers) for basically 30-35 bucks for a pound.

I can get a kilo of white pla from them for 31 bucks.

If you know of a better price then please hit me up
