How flat have the plates from McMaster-Carr been?

I have a 1/4" Mic6 plate and an 1/8" 6061 plate.

My 6061 plate is flatter than my Mic6 plate.

All the ones i have seen are dead nuts flat over an 8x10 area. I set mine in my machine and while it seems like they are biwed up in the middle a little they arent. The top rail of the printer is actually bowed down a couple thousandths.

Ahh, yeah I checked my plates on the machine with an indicator mounted to the extruder motor. That might explain the consistent "high spot in the middle" that I have found on both aluminum plates and the HBP itself.

Haha that bow is real? I fixed that by carrying the printer improperly a few times :D

Yeah its actually just from the tension on the belt. The tighter you make it the worse it gets

Have you lessened the tension on the belt enough to decrease the bow but still be functional?

The belt tension needs to be a certain amount. It is what it is. Just make sure its not super tight making it worse. That top part of the frame is fairly thick alum and steel plus the guide rail. The bow should not be bad unless your really tight. Only way for you to know is take all tension off the belt and see if it goes completely away.

Just out of curiosity, how tight are all y'all's belts? When I pluck the rear belt, I get ~383 Hz. Check yours with http://onlinetonegenerator.com

Oh, bad design. You shouldn't be able to flex the top rail with belt tensioning. That means that the frame is not stiff enough. Hum, wonder how that goes -- I have almost linear rails on my 3D printer.

It's a 3mm stainless steel frame, bolted to a 5mm aluminum plate, bolted to a 10mm hardened chromed steel rail with like 12-14 stainless steel fasteners in a big fat sandwich. If a belt wants to flex that I don't think I'm in a position to tell it no.
