Ok So my new M2 arrived - Huzzah.
After running off a few of my favorite calibration parts I decided to print some spares of the printed parts on the machine. I went to the wiki and downloaded the STL files from github but when I try import them into S3d they are massive, Do I have to open them with something else and scale first? If so what scale?
Thanks

Re: New M2 - First stupid question
How massive? Are they approximately 25.4 times the size you'd expect?

Re: New M2 - First stupid question
Seems likely that insta is right---STL files are dimensionless. The github files are in units that should be interpreted as mm (at least they were the last time I downloaded one). So they should import into S3D at a 1:1 scale. Unless you have a setting in S3D telling it to import STL files in some other dimension. LIke, say, inches. In which case anything that was designed with millimeters in mind comes out 25.4 times too big. Declaring what the default units are should be an option in S3D for STL imports.
Re: New M2 - First stupid question
Far as I know I have s3d setup to import in MM - Ive printed several other items that all imported as expected .. I guess I will try scaling down by 25.4
