3 in 1 oil for rods

Will gun oil that has ptfe and oil for lubrication and rust protection work just as well?

i wouldnt use anything really light weight like wd40. i use 30w in a needle applicator bottle.

3 in 1 is cheaper than gun oil, and is what MakerGear recommends. I would stick with that. However, I have read lots of people using things like CLP as rust prevention/machine lubricant, so I don't see why it wouldn't work. The round rods are not stainless, so need oil to keep from rusting.
