PTFE Liner

Post by 3dPrintingMD » Sat Oct 29, 2016 6:52 pm

Anyone know where to get liner material. I am overhauling a few hot ends that I have (V4) and want to replace the liners.

I do not see them on the MG Website. Thanks!

Drop customer service a line at their link - they can probably hook you up with some, if it comes as a separate part.

I bought this PTFE tube for a slightly smoother feed tube and it looked exactly the same as the V4 liner:

I only had occasion to notice the liner when clearing a pretty terrible jam. I'll note I didn't use it to replace the liner, since the liner has a slight countersink on one end and I didn't want to bother duplicating it.

Cutting it without deforming is tricky, though. I ended up putting a piece of PLA inside it and pressing down with an XActo to cut through the tube and PLA at the same time.
