Amazon 3D Printer Store thumbnail

I'm just curious, whenever I go on Amazon and look at 3D printer related products, below the product I see an exhortation to check out the 3D Printer Store. The thumbnail for it is this:

Does anyone else see that? Is it the same for everyone, or does Amazon just know that I have an M2 somehow?

Amazon tracks your visits to their web site and they use that information to present targeted ads to you. Sometimes that's good and sometimes it's bad. They have suggested things to me based on other things I have purchased and I actually bought one of them. Didn't know it was available and I would have missed a good opportunity.

(Google does it too).

It didn't happen in "1984" but it does now.

I don't have an M2 yet and I get the thumbnail image on my visits as well.

I think that some manufacturers pay to have their products show up on pages that show interest in their type of products.

I just used the privacy mode in my browser to look at a page, and it shows up there, too. It's not an ad, it's a callout to go visit their 3D printer store. So I think it must be the same for all users.

I'm not getting the ad but probably due to one of my add blocker extensions not letting it through.

ahhh i finally found it. i had to actually view the item. i just searched 3d printer filament and clicked on the first thing.

Oh yeah, I see it now. I was looking in the actual 3D printed products area, that's why I wasn't getting it.

So this has to be a pretty big win for Makergear right. Having the thumbnail of your printer used everywhere in amazon that references 3d printing.
