saved as rhino 4 .3dm . Some info could not be saved....not sure how it will work for you ? but give it a try .

I was able to load that one. I loaded it along with the .stl model and overlaid them for comparison and it looks like an exact match. That just saved me a lot of work, thanks! Where did you get that file?

That's where I got the STL file, but I never noticed the other format. There are several non-manifold edge errors in that model, but it still prints ok so S3D must be able to repair them.PcS wrote:Here MAKERGEAR GITHUB

I imagine the errors are from version 4 to 5. Or more correctly from rhino 5 saving it to a rhino 4 file. It said some information could not be saved. I`m assuming that is why you are getting the errors. There are no errors in the rhino 5 file. The step files do not have a download link that I could find. So I selected all of the text and pasted it in a notepad with the file name and .step extension and all files selected so it would save and it opens with no errors in rhino 5.

There are no errors when opening it in Rhino 4, the non-manifold edge error occurs in Simply 3D after loading the converted .stl file. I can see in the original model that there are some malformed looking geometry in the areas that S3D is complaining about, I just didn't put any effort into trying to fix it since it prints fine anyway.PcS wrote:I imagine the errors are from version 4 to 5. Here's the modified motor mount if anyone wants it. The bracket added to the right side keeps the motor from spinning in the clamp, so you don't have to worry about something knocking it sideways during a print. It also aligns the extruder perfectly vertical so you don't have to eyeball it.

interesting and nice mod. you were having a problem with your motor turning in the original mount with it tightened down? on all 3 machines here there is no way i could move the motor. i would need a pair of channel locks and i bet the mount would rip off the bearing before the motor would turn. i dont even have them tightened down all the way either. i did reprint mine in high infill abs but its still the stock mount. yours wasnt cracked or damaged in any way where it wouldnt hold the motor tight was it? that was a problem there for awhile.

Mine wasn't damaged, other than a crack in the cable support which seems to be prone to cracking but doesn't really cause a problem since the top piece still holds it together. My bolts just somehow worked themselves loose over time, since I know I've tightened them not too long ago. It seems strange that they could loosen given that the tension from the C clamp should have the same effect as a lock washer and prevent vibrations from causing them to work loose, but somehow it happens. With the mod it won't matter if I don't discover when they are loose now, since the motor won't be able to spin even if they are loose.
