jprochnow wrote:How the heck did that happen. Before I shipped it the z was smooth. Did I over pack it with foam? Or do you think vibration from shipping with a combination of loose bolts cause that? I packed that machine better then I have ever packed anything before(i'm sure you can agree it was pretty good). Maybe I overdid it?
This clamp may have always been loose, and a good drop from USPS shifted the alignment.
I'm just glad it looks like the fix is free!

I would loosen top as well. This will allow the rods to rotate easier the full length.

I think it's fixed now.
I loosened the clamps, wiggled them around, tightened them, saw it was still sticky, and repeated this process a few times. Now it's relatively smooth the entire way. I think something may be bent (probably Z screw) because it's sorta sticky, but my test cylinder came out fine. I'm printing a larger part now, we'll see how that goes.

yes up and down it can be a little sticky. as long as it doesnt feel tight. the bed doesnt have to drop all the way down on its own but should be close. if its tight where you have to push it down with more than light 1 finger pressure then it has to be realigned. it can be printing ok but those rods need to be right on the money and free. loosen the bottom clamp adjusting screws just so that clamp can move then push the bed up and down on its own so it will slightly move that clamp to a stress free position then tighten it back up. try to tighten the lower clamp with the bed all the way down
