Thanks! Sorry for the large pictures, I used a different program to resize them than I usually use.

Split them up how? If you want to do any sort of complicated separation, like if you want to make a parting line follow a feature, that is actually kind of tricky on an STL file. You have to be something of a Meshmixer jockey.

On the other hand, if you just want a plane cut, that is super simple and requires no additional software. Just adjust the model Z coordinate so that the bed itself acts as your cutting plane. Obviously, it won't try to print stuff underneath the plane of the bed. You can get the other half by duplicating your object, rotating it, and doing a similar plane cut, making careful note of the Z offset and Z size and doing some simple math to figure out how much to adjust it by (calculate how much you dropped the original by, then subtract that from the total Z height and subtract the result from the starting Z offset of the duplicate).

That's a great idea, I will have to keep that in mind next time I have a print like this! I think I had read about that somewhere but I had never tried it. The Legs definitely have some good spots where you could do a perfectly clean cut and you would hardly notice it!

This trick is going to come in handy on my latest 3dhub order! A big part that would normally require an insane amount of support, or zero support if I cut it in half. Thanks for the tip.
