.25 nozzle not available

Post by Pekish79 » Fri Oct 09, 2015 4:43 pm

what happened to the .25 nozzle they don't seem to be available i only use pla i know they seem to have problem with ABS but i was interested to know if they will be available again of it they are discontinued as architect working with a width of .3 instead of .4 could be useful on certain model where i can go down to wall thickness .9 having 3 layers right now my wall thickness range between .8 (double) -1.2(triple) -1.6(quadruple) and the triple layer in scale 500 is just a bit too thick .9 would be perfect

my bad i was looking in the wrong parts i found the .25

any advice or any special behave i should be away or special technic to print with .25?

You will need to modify your layer heights to match your new extrusion width, and make sure to run a dust catcher on the filament. :D

thx i just found the dust catcher thread ^_^ very nice tip

i was thinking a .15 heights would be good or maybe .1 i didn't want to go .1 because of extra time

i have read the height should be less then 80% so .15 is 50% of .3 i should be fine

Perhaps S3D has the same option that Slic3r offers: print the outer perimeter thread at (say) 0.10 mm and all the interior threads at 2x or 3x that thickness. That may give you reasonable exterior detail and reasonable printing time.

The option is Print Sparse Infill in the infill tab.

It will do exactly what Ed described: print infill every n layers at n thickness.
