Can someone explain glass transition temp?

Post by sprior » Fri Jan 02, 2015 7:57 pm

I see the glass transition temp listed for various filaments. Can someone please explain what that means and how I use that information?

It is the temperature at which certain glass-like materials turn rubbery. I don't know how you'd use it, since most printing is done well above that point. I guess you want to keep your bed temperature under that temperature, and also you can use it to calculate a temperature for a "cold pull", where you try to suck out a clog.
