Glue stick works well for me, not so well for others. Don't know what accounts for the difference. For ABS, try a slurry of ABS dissolved in pure acetone, that works great and you can color match it by using the filament you're printing with. What temperature are you printing at?

ABS warps and lifts, it's a fact of life. There are two band aids available: a lot of adhesive action, and then you will encounter layer to layer delamination, and a heated chamber, which will help to a certain extent. PETG is $32/kg and is a pretty good substitute.

Yeah I am already on the list for the Black PETG once its available mid month. Unfortunate, this particular job needs to get done before that .

SUCCESS!!

The Gluesticks served as a perfect base, and the change of wall draft to 20 degrees solved that stepping problem. Whats really funny is after I shut the machine down, (about 15 minutes later actually) I heard a huge "CRACK" from the M2; and there was no doubt in my mind my glass bed just cracked ( I was livid!). When I got around the corner I could see that the part had moved about 2 inches to the right, completely free of the bed. I think the damn thing literally jumped off the table on its own!

Awesome stuff. I keep meaning to try out glue sticks, but I got used to working with blue painters tape and so I've stuck with it.

Hmm. Glue stick does not work for some people? Honestly I am surprised that there are people who are using anything but glue stick. It is so far superior to anything else that the internet should be purged of advice to use anything else. I was pretty surprised when my M2 came with a $20 roll of Kapton tape rather than a 50 cent glue stick. MakerGear could keep the difference as profit or lower the printer price to gain more sales.

I started with Kapton, then went to masking tape, then ABS juice, I tried hairspray, and now I only use glue stick. This is for PLA, ABS, and PETG. I don't have a problem with parts getting unstuck. Sometimes I have a problem with removing parts. Worst case I put the glass in the freezer and the part will pop off.

As for ABS - I don't know how to get prints to fail on the first layer like that but I do have problems with taller ABS prints cracking. I build an enclosure that gets up to about 110F, and that helps - but it is a pain as the printer is harder to get to - so I don't recommend building an enclosure but I would avoid ABS for larger parts and smaller parts that don't need the heat resistance.

I seem to be settling on PLA or PETG and will keep some nylon for limited use. PLA is better than PETG if you want stiffer, more colors, and faster warm up and printing. PETG is better than PLA if you want more flexible and more toughness.

yeah i am one of those that cant get glue stick to work. its more like a wax stick. not sure how it works with pla since i havent tried it with that. kinda works ok for bridge nylon but everything eles i have tried to print on glue stick comes right off....most of the time mid print. i dont get it either.

how to use Gluestick? Is it the same gluestick that people use for Hot Glue gun?

No, literally a child's crafting glue stick. Elmers disappearing purple is a popular one.
